In April, the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture held it\u2019s 2019 Abuja Carnival stakeholders meeting. During the meeting, it was announced that this year\u2019s theme, Culture And Peace, was carefully chosen to reflect Nigerians\u2019 aspirations of enduring peace in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, Deaconess Grace Isu Gekpe, permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, said the following, \u201cThis year\u2019s carnival, among other gains, will provide the platform to unwind and recreate and continue the onerous task of nation-building after the peaceful 2019 General Election.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stakeholders were urged to look at the challenges and successes of previous carnivals to create an opportunity to showcase an improved carnival this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same month, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the event will cost N82.109 million this year. The Minister also said that the N62 Million appropriated for the carnival in 2018 was not fully cash backed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cultural Centers in China and Brazil have been established by Nigeria to market the image of the country. The goal is to help people from overseas appreciate both Nigeria and Nigerians better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
